Review:
Aberrant and Moirai where gripping, exciting books that tells the story of a fertile girl in an infertile world, a rebel uprising, love, adventure, and so much more. Isaura picks up pretty much immediately after Moirai ends, and still has most of those things. For me though, it just fell a little short. Maybe because my expectations were higher?

The major thing that kind of bothered me about Isaura was the pacing. Sure, it moved along quickly and Olivia never just sat around.. but I think it moved too quickly. I often found myself having to backtrack and find out what in the world had just happened because things would just shift to some point in the future with no warning. The conflicts are resolved extremely quickly (the one from the end of Moirai is resolved in the first few chapters), and things change from believable to unbelievable. I just felt like it didn't really fit with the world or with the other books in the series.

I did like that the romance wasn't as heavy in this book (it was still there, but Olivia had bigger problems to worry about), and I thought the concept of Isaura and what she was trying to do were really interesting. She's such a gray-area character - definitely selfish and the "villain" and going about things the wrong way, but what she accomplishes changes the world. I wish we had been able to learn more about her, because I kind of felt like she was just a ghost that shows up, messes things up, and then disappears again.

I really wanted this book to be so much more than it was, but I still enjoyed it and thought it was a nice conclusion to the series. Nothing's really left open-ended, and the story is tied up. I would still recommend this book to anyone who has read the other two books in the series, and the series to any fans of sci-fi dystopian books. 3/5.
